The other day I was talking to a rep at Business Wire about a press release I was sending out for a client. He mentioned that he'd like to stop by the office sometime to meet us both, and I then explained that I actually work from my home office and am not in the same location as my client. When he heard that he said, "Wow - you're so lucky. You're living the dream!"
I never really thought about it like that, but I do appreciate how lucky I am to be able to work from home. That's one of the main reasons I decided to open a Virtual Assistance practice. It's particularly helpful when my kids are around like last week when they were on spring break. I could still get my client work done, but had the chance to take some time off with them too - like the day we spent at the Philadelphia Art Museum. I love the flexibility I have to both run a business and be there for my family.
Maybe he is right - maybe I am living the dream. Are you?
