I did not think I'd be back this soon as I am packing on this beautiful day in Maine for a trip to PA. early tomorrow morning. But as I am easily distracted (another definition of procrastination), this bit of news caught my attention on one of my ever running cable news networks. Florida has passed a law that allows one to carry a weapon to work for personal protection as long as it is left locked in your vehicle. A big Liz HUH? to the State of Florida. "Pardon me enraged person while I walk out to my car and get my personal protection" or conversely "You have just enraged me so I shall walk to my vehicle and get my personal revenge apparatus". I admit to being a quiet tree hugger so have problems with this type of thinking so I wish our forefathers had placed a line in the Constitution about the need that all citizens use common sense as defined in the dictionary as "sound and prudent but often unsophisticated judgment". I am not anti-gun. My father was a hunter and each deer, bear or whatever season the rifle would be taken from its storage place and bullets from another and placed back just as carefully after. And if his small town in NH ever found itself in need of a well formed militia for the protection of its citizens, he was prepared. I have never understood, however, why a hunter would need an arsenal of automatic weapons unless someone spotted Bambi wearing camo and carrying. Just as I don't understand what protection I would have in a store, office, whatever with everyone having a loaded weapon out in their vehicle under the hot Florida sun. Doesn't seem logical.
